When to describe this lovely town, there are particularly four elements that stand out and which to me symbolize Chipiona; the characteristic church by the sea, the tall lighthouse, the wonderful beaches and, not least, the friendly atmosphere.

Close your eyes. Imagine the sun staring down from a clear blue sky while you enjoy the views of a white beach longer than the eye can see. Picture yourself walking barefoot on sand through yellow and red limestone cliffs. Feel the tranquillity in a soft swinging hammock close to the sea in the true hippie spirit of the 70’s while you let the wonderful reggae tunes of Bob Marley surround you. Well… this is Canoa Quebrada.
Those were the exact words that went through my head when I arrived in the small fishing village Jericoacoara, located in the state of Ceará on the north-eastern coast of Brazil. An idyllic place where streets are paved with sand, surrounded by sand dunes and freshwater lagoons, and an endless beach – named by Washington Post Magazine as one of the ten most beautiful beaches in the world. You’ll probably end up staying longer than planned. In fact, most travellers do.

As long as I can remember I’ve been fascinated by seeing new places. To discover and explore. To meet new people and to hear their stories… I’m not exactly sure when it all started, but especially one trip really woke my inner travel spirit. A trip to beautiful Ceará in the north-eastern part of Brazil.
I’m on my way to the Spanish coast, southwest in the region of Andalucía, and the road leading there is something quite special. On the final stretch before reaching my destination, it almost feels like I’m driving on water. Only a thin strip of land on each side, separates the fine motorway from the ocean. And in front of me sparkles a real gem of a city – the port city of Cádiz.
On top of a cliff, bathed in sunshine, lies a beautiful white Andalucían village. Here you won’t find many charter tourists. And if you’re in search for something authentic, Arcos de la Frontera is a good place to start.

Tangier is located on the northwest shore of Morocco, and to many it’s the natural gateway to Africa. Although the city is just a short boat trip from Europe, it’s like stepping into another world. A world of an ancient time, which offers encounters with street vendors, camels and snake charmers with their legendary cobras.

At the very south of the Iberian Peninsula, where two oceans meet, lies a lovely Andalucian fishing town. Tarifa with its location has been an important strategic point for conquerors throughout history. Today however, the town is more famous for something completely different, and which attracts thousands of visitors from around the world. Namely surfing.
